We are a little anal you know. We watch the wine sales to determine what our customers like and don’t like. Apparently they like the newly released Norton (just released in April) because it has rocketed into first place in red wine sales. Norton overtook our ’07 Barbera in June. Maybe it’s because of our “June is Norton Month” promotion, but, hey Norton is our flagship wine.
Our Norton comes from the big hill behind the Tasting Room and has been our pride and joy since it was planted in 2005. We held it a year longer than most wineries to let the tannins settle down and the flavors merge a little more than usual. Our ’08 is destined to be bottled in the fall of this year, and again, we’ll hold it for at least another nine months. Norton seems to age significantly after bottling.
While its ready to drink now, our ’07 will continue to age for many years to come. Truth is, we really do not know how long it keeps if properly stored. We’ve even tasted some twenty-five year old Norton that was superb.

Dale, awesome wine – I have had the pleasure of your Barbera and Norton. I can’t say enough. An awesome place you have. No better place to spend an afternoon.
